Gang Wars – Quake 1 Machinima Movie

Gang Wars was a Quake 1 (1996) Machinima released some time in 1997.. (the PAK file shows 10/12/1997, so I assume some time after that). This is a 5.5 MB zip file download with a custom console graphic, custom maps, and their own audio dialog (The bulk of the download is all of the audio files). There is some adult language and theme here, so this video is not for the kiddies.

There is some “warping” with the character models, but that is to be expected from a game that was originally designed for 320×240, and with the help of source ports is running at 1920×1080. I did take the liberty of using a high resolution texture pack to add some modern polish. Much like Blahbalicious and Apartment Huntin’ I used QuakeSpasm as it tends to be the most compatible with Quake Machinima demo files.

Goodies: Lotsa swearing and killing 🙂 Very well done, excellent music, camera work and voices. The plot here is some big mafia boss wants his money and is sending his thugs to get it, etc.
Baddies: Hmm, nothing much here.
The Final Stance: Great movie, I would definitely recommend this.
