NERD CAVE SHOW 20210316.
AudioCraZ, and Beard & Gary are alone in the studio! We are doing our best to deflate AudioCraZ’s ego after the latest snafu from NVidia. Oh, and we are a bit skeptical about Toys’R Us new owners and their plans on re-opening… again. As well as we take a bit of a trip down memory lane for some flashbacks.
NVidia recently released their 470.05 drivers to developers and Windows insiders, which did not include their software security/DRM system, that throttled Ethereum performance for mining. With this driver, miners could use RTX 3060 cards at their full mining potential. Essentially, NVidia defeated their own mining throttling mechanism. This was a topic we discussed last week, so AudioCraZ was doing a bit of gloating with being right about software based mining limitations.
Hats off to modder “t0st” for showing a proof of concept for increasing the load time of GTA Online to 70%. As such, Rockstar investigated and is going to apply the fix to a future update. Rockstar is also awesome enough to pay t0st $10,000 for helping to fix the long load time.
